What We Believe
  • GOD: There is only one God, the God of the Bible (Isa. 43:1011, 44:6). God is trinity, one God in three persons (not Triad); the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is Omnipotent (Jer. 32:17), Omnipresent (Psalm 139:712), Omniscient (1 John 3:20). God is love, light, spirit, truth, creator, and eternal.
  • JESUS: The second person of the Trinity. He is both 100% man and 100% God (Col. 2:9). Jesus is the creator (John 1:1-3; Col. 1:1517), our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), the only way to the Father (Jn. 14:6), our savior/redeemer (Acts 13:23, 1 Peter 1:18-19) and sinless (Hebrews. 4:15). It is because of His death on the cross and His resurrection that the gap between man and God is bridged. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified, buried, and on the third day rose from the dead in the same body he died in. Jesus is now seated in heaven at the right hand of God the Father as both man and God, Lord and savior, king and judge. It is only through Jesus that we are able to be made right with God, because He bore the sins of the world (1 John 2:2) in His body on the cross (1 Peter 2:24). His death on the cross is the atonement (payment) for all sins past, present, and future.  All of Christianity hangs on the person of Jesus; who He is and what He accomplished through His death and resurrection.
  • HOLY SPIRIT: The third person in the trinity. After Jesus’ ascension into heaven, He sent the Spirit. The Spirit is the communicator. The Spirit indwells the people of God (Rm. 8:11), gives gifts (spiritual) to His people for the Church. The Spirit intercedes, teaches, comforts, empowers, guides, and gives joy. It is by the Holy Spirit that God’s children are sealed with salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14).
  • MAN: God’s prize creation. Man was created for relationship with God. Man was also originally created pure, holy, and without sin. Man is created in the image of God (Gen. 1:2627). It wasn’t until man bought into the lie from Satan and selfishly, willingly, rebelled against God, that introduced sin and the depravity of man into the world “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.” (Rm. 5:12). Because of Adam’s sin we are all now born into sin and are in need of a Savior, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rm. 3:23). Because of sin we are separated from God and deserve his wrath, death and eternal separation from Him in Hell. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rm. 6:23). But there is salvation found in Jesus alone,“For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous” (Rm. 5:19).
  • SALVATION: Is the deliverance from God’s wrathful judgment on man. Salvation is not just a get out of hell free card, but it is a restored relationship with the Father through His son Jesus Christ (John 14:6). It is a free gift from God to all who accept it (John 3:16). Salvation is all about Jesus and not about us. It is Jesus who seeks us out, it is through the Holy Spirit that our hearts can be softened to hear the message of the Gospel and by the Spirit, our hearts are regenerated and we are justified. Salvation is based on faith in Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus’ virgin birth from Mary, His sinless life, His death on the cross as a sufficient payment of sins, His resurrection from the dead, defeating death, His ascension back into heaven seated at the right hand of God, and His return. Salvation is by grace through faith and not by works.
